Top 5 Mistakes People Make In Email Marketing. Part 1

The advent of the internet has made communication so much simpler than it would have been without it. It is easier to get the message out on your products, services or company. The speed of information that the internet provides is simply astonishing. Because of the ease of use of the internet, the average individual has an email address enabling him to contact anyone across the globe with just a few keyboard punches. The marketing sector has cashed in on this unique opportunity and is using email marketing to get the message out about their products, services and company.

Unfortunately though, people are not putting as much effort as they should into their email marketing efforts and campaigns. The attention given to direct mail or a press release in the news media is far higher than what is given to mail marketing.

If you are using the internet as a means of marketing, you should know that you are not dealing with robots. You are dealing with real people in a real world who have as much tendency to ignore your ads as they would in reality. Exploring the full potentials of email marketing is still far away. People make certain mistakes in the use of email marketing as a means of getting the word out on their products and services. To be very successful in your email marketing campaigns, it is advisable that you avoid making certain mistakes which seem to abound everywhere on the internet. If you are desirous of tremendous results, and want to get on the exclusive 2.1% of people who are making tons of money from their email marketing campaigns, there is need to focus on the seemingly little things.

I have always been a proponent of watching for the little things. It is those really small things that can either make or mar an individual. Companies make elaborate plans on email marketing campaigns. They get the best software, buy or build the list et.c but leave out the very important things such as email format and so on. To avoid unnecessary losses, try not to tow these steps:

1. Sending your clients poorly written offers. Unfortunately, even the big guys are guilty of this act. I am a subscriber to various ezines and newsletters online and have found that even among the so-called gurus, there is always one who makes the same mistake. What happens when you send poorly-written emails containing your offers is a huge loss of sales. Imagine what it would be like if Wal-Mart’s adverts were poorly written. Imagine how much sales McDonald’s could lose because of poorly written emails. Treat your customers like kings and queens. Prepare well-crafted offers for them. the subconscious mind picks up these things. For instance, you’ll find you hardly notice things when they are perfect. But once something is amiss, or wrong about that thing, you automatically notice it. So it is with email marketing. Your offers have to be crafted so well that even your clients will be very impressed.

In the next issue, we?ll be examining the four remaining mistakes made by marketers in email marketing. Please stay tuned.

Things To Remember When Focusing On Internet Marketing

How much traffic is your website getting daily? When you have a website, sometimes you have to do things in order to get more traffic that may not be easy or pleasant. The items that are listed below may be difficult for you to do, but they are also things that are going to let you know how your website is doing.

Analyze and track the traffic to your website

One of the most important things to remember when you are focusing on Internet marketing is to analyze and track the traffic that is coming to your website. This is something should be offered by the host of your website, and it’s an essential technique that should be used by everyone that has a business on the Internet. When you take the time to understand the data that is given to you, you know what is working and what isn’t. Then you can use the information to make changes to what you are doing.

Link Exchanges

Another thing that is good to do is to do a link exchange with another website which is not in direct competition with your products or services. When you do a link exchange with someone else, it brings you traffic that is quality and increases your business prestige. When visitors enter your site from another site’s link believe that they are going to find something that is valuable. The other thing that link exchange is that it’s building the popularity of your link. This is something that is going to help your rank in the search engines. When you have a higher rank on the search engines, you will find that you are getting more traffic and that you are getting more sales on your website each day.

Don’t overlook obvious things

Take the time to take a critical look at your website and ask yourself the questions that can affect your business. Can people navigate it easily? Is the text on the website easy to understand? Are the music and graphics on your website distracting? Is there anything on your website that can make people uncomfortable or make them want to leave? These are hard questions, but they are ones that will let you know if there’s something on your website that people aren’t going to like. If you aren’t sure, ask a friend for their honest opinion. There may be something that they are going to see that you won’t.

It can be difficult to look for things that may be wrong or that need to be changed on your website, but it’s something that will help your business out in the long run. Business is a learning experience, and when you are willing to look at what you are doing wrong and change it, you show that you are concerned about the needs and wants of your customers. Remembering what may be difficult for your customers and prospects to read or to look at will help you to do the things that are best for them, for you, and for your business.

Thinking Outside the Box for Fair Trade Marketing

Retailers can benefit greatly when they put a little extra consideration into their marketing strategies for the wholesale fair trade items they have added to their inventories. With fair trade clothing this is particularly true, since customers are simply not used to being drawn into a deeper story about the way fair trade standards create more sustainable and ecological communities.

The bigger picture is usually not brought to the customer’s attention. Retailers who realize that this fact is an important asset can go quite far. This is because there are serious advantages to setting your store apart from the crowd. When supported by an educated and motivated sales staff, displays that include some text about fair trade standards are powerful motivators to shoppers. The educated sales staff can sense when customers are concerned with ethical standards. This can be accomplished with simple questions, such as, “are you familiar with fair trade?” or “would you care to learn more about these pieces?”

Other ideas could include choosing displays that highlight both the cultural and environmental advantages of the wholesale fair trade clothing. For example, choosing natural backdrops with some short phrases can show the environmental advantages. One idea is to use tree branches to display scarves. Wholesale scarves can become retail wonders when they are showcased in a way that draws attention to natural dyes and fibers. Photos of artisans making them by hand can help. And it never hurts to include simple phrases in bold type, such as “natural, herbal dyes,” or “made with care for a sustainable world.”

A display can also draw in the customer with a simple list of fair trade standards. A simple search on the internet can give you plenty of options for such a list. I have published condensed lists in other articles for this purpose, but there are quite a few options out there.

Thinking outside the box can convert strong choices in items such as wholesale scarves or other wholesale fair trade items into strong contenders for shoppers’ attention. We can often underestimate our customers’ interest in ethical standards and sustainability. Try sparking some conversation about such things and you will get to know your customers on a deeper level than usual.

Such conversations can lead to deeper understanding of your customers as people, for what they care about and how they want to change their lives and the lives of others. Since these can be such deep, meaningful conversations, you can create a more meaningful experience for your customers. In turn, your store can become a welcoming, unique place that can gather a buzz in various ways.
