The truth be told, most people make Internet Marketing a lot more complicated than it needs to be. There are so many different reasons Internet Marketers get discouraged, but I can tell you from someone who came up the hard way not just once but twice, that this business is worth every second you devote to it. There are different reasons that people get held back and fail to achieve their part of the big pie. As someone who was there myself, I will let you know what stumbling blocks I came across during my Internet Marketing Career and what you can do to avoid these.
I used to get intimidated by the large number of people that just flat out said Internet Marketing doesn’t work and it is a waste of time. Many of these people said you would be better off going to College for 4 years and getting a degree and get a decent job. Actually I think that’s a great way to go, since having a stable job would allow you to focus at least a few hours per week on your spare time to building your business. Also the extra funds would help you get the tools you need to get started, which aren’t that many.
The point is you don’t have to spend a lot to get started. When you are starting out with your Internet Business, the best way to go is to promote Affiliate Programs. Almost all of the best ones out there are free to signup for, but it’s also worth it to pay some money to join real exclusive ones as well. It’s really your call. One thing that shouldn’t discourage you is the competition level. In fact, that should excite you and make you dive in head first into promoting these types of programs. The best thing to do is setup a blog, start making posts promoting popular programs and start sending backlinks to all of the pages you are promoting. I can’t even begin to tell you how productive this will be when you start doing it.
Don’t try to step toe to toe with the best marketers out there or you will lose. Instead, make daily goals for yourself and work hard to achieve these. If you are sitting at your house all day unemployed and broke, you actually have an incredible advantage most people don’t have and that is a lot of extra time. Use this to your advantage and start writing lots of articles and send all of the anchor text to increase the page rank on your blog. Maybe get up 1-2 programs per week and just dive in there and start promoting them. Don’t think too much about it just take some massive action.
You can refine your backlink and promotional methodology as you go along but the most important advice I can give you right now is just to do something. As long as you take some type of action you will get results, since there is no such thing as negative website traffic. Just remember if you can write just one article per day that’s 365 articles per year. I read somewhere on the Internet that the average article marketer just writes 7 articles in their entire career. Heck I wrote 3 today so far. I’ve personally written as much as 8 in one day and there are a few out there who write up to 30 in one day.
But like I said the biggest mistake is trying to be the best out there. Just look out for yourself and don’t forget that slow and steady wins the race every time. In other words, win your own race not someone elses. This will make the process a lot more fun and you’ll much mentally healthier at the end of the day.
